Challenge
Samsung’s Gear VR was one of the first mass-market personal VR platforms, but at the time was mostly used for just entertainment. I lead our agency’s effort to design and pitch a new concept, called DreamScape VR, that would immerse the viewer in calming virtual experiences to reduce stress and improve sleep quality.

- Assembled a cross-disciplinary team of programmers, writers, and artists to participate in the project
- Leveraged proven medical research on factors that relieve stress and lead to better sleep patterns
- Created a rapid prototype using Google Cardboard and YouTube VR
- Built a full Gear VR Android app using the Unity 3D platform
- Designed marketing concepts to promote to consumers
Concept for a marketing page, demonstrating its connectedness to the Samsung product ecosystem.
Each Dreamscape scene is designed with calming colors, music and words.
Homescreen UI of Dreamscape VR where users select their experience.
Users could add their own Dreamscapes using 3D video recorders.
